Overstock & World Market is what I meant. Great ideas here. Thank you.

I never said they were "thow away" chairs. Just something we can afford now and use for a few years before. We would likely then move them to another room. Or hey, maybe we'll love the cheapo chairs! The designer recommended beautiful $1700 chairs from Room & Board, but no way would I pay that for a chair.

I may check out Overstock and Room & Board. Thanks for the recommendations!

How much are the ones you really want?

I think this one is really cute if you're going for a retro look:

These are popular "Eames-style" retro chairs:

We have the Overstock version which are of decent quality for "throwaway chairs."

This one is really cute:

Love this one:

A cheaper version that's similar:

I realize a lot of people who like traditional style (which apparently describes most people on this site) won't like these, but I love vintage/retro things.

BTW, $300-500 for throwaway chairs? Oh, to live your life....

I actually like the West Elm chairs and think they'd look good in the right space.

Or Wayfair, or Home Goods. I hate the first one you posted, and the second is ok, but depends on what the other furniture looks like.

Hi all, OP here. Thanks for talking me out of the leather swivels. I guess they are pretty ugly!

OP, they are both bad but the leather one is terrible! Keep looking! What's the chair your designer recommended? Maybe DCUM can help you find something close to it but budget-friendly.

Sorry, me again, I have two other chairs from West Elm that have held up very well and are still comfortable -- mine were about the same price.
