Which charters are funded by the Walton Foundation?

We're liberals and we love our charter. And many of the other charter parents we've met and become friendly with are liberal too.

Yeah, I'm going to bet that liberals with decent in-bounds schools may hate charters. Because they can afford to. Those of us with charters as our only choice other than a terrible in-bounds school, well, we've made peace with the idea as it saves our particular kids from other, unacceptable school options. And we see that the administrators of our particular charter school are idealistic, not-evil types. So whatever larger feeling we have about privatization, are made more complex by the actual reality of education in our city. And by our desire for our kids to get a good education. So, there you go.

Partnering with schools are priority number one for all schools. So to make it sound that charter schools are the only culprit...is such a misnomer. Hell, DCPS held a Partnership fair just recently and the corporations connection was encouraged and supported.

I should have added a caveat that here in DC my liberal friends rave their charter. Usually its an immersion school. On the VA forum, they are trashing charters. Liberal orgs like Gates Foundation back them.

I think charters in DC have attracted support from many traditionally liberal or progressive types. That is less the case in other cities.
