And for $100 you can feel like a rock star at the airport customs and immigration line when you wheel on past the commoners and head to the no line kiosks with the flight crew. So there's that fun.

Because I can't even afford economy plus.

Agree that it makes a huge difference with international travel. Re-entering the US with global entry is amazing, painless and quick. Well worth the small expense.

DH insisted we all get Global entry because he travels a lot and he didn't want us holding him up. I thought it was a little over the top. Then we traveled overseas a few times. THANK GOD WE HAD GLOBAL ENTRY. So awesome.

Because the TSA has not demonstrated themselves to be anything other than a khafkaesque bureaucracy investing billions in efforts that are described by independent experts as "security theater." I see no reason to trust them with more information then they already have.

Worth it to keep my dignity and not have to strip down. It is humiliating that we don't have a better system.

$85 for 5 years and it is a business expense. Why not?

Regarding EZ Pass vs. waiting in lines at tolls... in that case, time literally is money. Those in the lines are wasting gas for however many minutes rather than driving through. When gas was near $4/gallon, this can add up.

For TSA Pre-check, time isn't quite money, although a more sane or less stressful experience of the security line (or "line" as the case may be) is a benefit that some find worth paying for.

I have Global Entry/pre check and made my DH and kids get it too. It's not even so much the time savings as the certainty. The regular security line at Dulles can be 5 minutes or 45 minutes. I want to be able to plan for 5 minutes every time.

In a similar vein, why are there people who don't have an EZpass. Boggles my mind to see so many people waiting in long lines at tolls.

Wow, I didn't realize it was that cheap.
