I doubt it's saved me money. I do my shopping at night, though, so the convenience is worth every penny. And I'm spoiled by getting stuff in one or two days. It's more a lifestyle thing than a budget thing.

I go to Target maybe three times a year now thanks to the magic of Amazon Prime plus subscribe n save. Instead of using precious weekend time, I accomplish "errands" on my lunch break or in five minutes at home on my phone.

About any cleaning supply or paper good comes from Amazon, not to mention any baby or birthday gift. Almost any household item we might need we can get in two days...count me among those who call it game changing.

Oh, and the TV options come in handy too.

We need to drop our costco membership. I buy granola bars and gum there. That's really it. Everything else I purchase is an impulse.

A vacuum? You can run to bbb and get one in 30 minutes? We don't use our vacuum for days and in a pinch you can sweep mop wipe for a day.

I think it has saved me money because now if I need toothpaste I just buy toothpaste instead of another item or items to add up to $25 to get free shipping.

I also have Costco but use it mainly for perishables and bulk water/beer/soda for parties.

Agree with all PPs, Amazon Prime is about saving time (and sanity) not money.

Also - a tip for those looking to avoid the store even more. Drugstore.com. If you have an amex you can sign up for free shoprunner shopping and use it on drugstore. It allows you the freedom to buy things in small batches (ie just one tube of toothpaste, not the subscribe and save 4 pack) and arrives at your door in 2 days like prime.

I would hate to even sort the Amex bill so see what we spend a month on Amazon.

We dropped Costco about 6 years ago and went to amazon prime. Diapers were close to the same when you had the Amazon mom's program.

We do amazon subscribe and save for paper towels / tiolet paper etc.

Since we live in DC - no tax on amazon purchases

I do a quick check between my amazon subscribe and save and target's program just to see if something is out of line.
Note - some things are like children's vitamins!

But we already were heavy amazon users before Prime. We kept up our usual level of usage and added prime tv and a roku.

I think it's been a wash for me. We do subscribe and save for anything we can. It saves me significantly on target impulse buys, and in my comparison of the staples Amazon was competitive or cheaper. And for the cost for a year, my time is definitly worth it.

Two day shipping when u have a bday party in two days is awesome.

Amazon Prime was a winner for me in the first year. I looked at it the second year and it's pretty much a wash. With the new higher price I'll probably drop it.

It doesn't save me money, but it's very convenient and the only place that carries my dog's food now.

I just bought a vacuum at Costco and it was $75 less there than at Amazon.

I like he streaming music, movies, and cloud storage. The free shipping is a bonus.

I almost never buy from Amazon anymore. There prices are just not good. I agree prime offers convenience but you are stuck with Amazons prices.

not sure it saves me money, but I don't think it costs me more and it saves me a ton of time. I noticed the other day that for the past three years I've had about 100 orders per year. Never been to Costco so don't know how it compares, but I was able to cut back Target to about every other month, instead of every month. Not sure I even need to go as often as that, but sometimes you just want something from a store- and I tend to get the larger items there like paper towels, TP, laundry detergent, etc. Amazon subscribe and save is good for toiletries and things you'd normally buy at Target or CVS, like shampoo, razors, etc. Their prices are almost always much better than Target. Also Amazon is great for all of the last minute items you end up needing - like a gift for a bday party that weekend, etc. and we use amazon prime video a lot too. If you tend to be a Target impulse shopper maybe it will save you some money - or at least the cost of the membership.
