Your sister with all due respect sounds selfish. You are carrying the load and yes she agreed to help? And cannot even do one thing? Not nice. I would say that you decided to do this on your own, let your brother pay his share, and if you want to accept your sisters share and swallow the fact that she is a very self centered person whose best interest is her own interest, then you will probably save yourself from a lot of aggravation. Sorry, it sounds like such a nice thing you are doing.

Absolutely not! She is not one to hesitate to throw an over the top party for her D's 5th bday. Trust me on this, money is irrelevant to her in these matters. She if she were to admit it would rather just pay then do the work but to be fair, I asked her if she wanted to "help out" to which she replied most definitely. Clearly she did not mean it- in fact her very husband made mention of it to my husband (they are very good friends) so we are not the only ones who see and recognize her dropping the ball. Whatever, I ordered them, its done.
We are inviting nearly 120 people (10 tables plus flowers,decor, invites,etc...), doing a full dinner with a special surprise for entertainment so no 12k is really not a lot given what I am doing.
It sounds like a wonderful tribute to your parents, Op. They will feel so special. Hang in there.

20 minutes huh? Does that include keeping track of RSVPs too? Maybe your sis has little experience doing this and isn't quite sure what you want and how to proceed. Maybe she feels weird sending out invites to people who doesn't know.
