Wow, that's tough. Two totally different schools.
Is this a commute issue?
Commute would be a big part of it. I posted on another thread too - 2R would be a much easier commute and looks like a fantastic community but we don't know much about it. ITS is current school and DD has really done well there so it would be a big deal to leave.
Maybe go check out the school?

Do you want immersion? Or are you interested in arts and chinese too?
Aren't they both in the common lottery this year? How is that possible?
We are #1 on the WL at CMI and got into MV. So obviously no guarantee of getting in but at least a chance.
Dang! Someone got a great lottery number! Congrats! I'm a few spots behind you on the CMI waitlist so I have a rather vested interest in seeing you choose MV! But injecting a bit of objectivity, here will echo what others have said--immersion or not, and the commute. Commute was my king, I just couldn't consider anything beyond a certain radius from home or too far in the opposite direction I go for work.
This is for prek4. Is that your grade too?
As far as commute, we are currently renting and are planning to buy in the next year. So we can base that decision on what school we end up at. Honestly, I'm still quite shocked. I was pretty convinced we'd be shut out. I recognize how very lucky we are.

Anonymous wrote:We had the same choice last year and went with CMI. We love the curriculum, the small class size, the teachers and the families. The middle school charter should be approved so you won't have to lottery again.

I like the idea of immersion but don't speak a lick of Spanish. But I was super impressed with both open houses. Never in a million head imagined we might have a choice.
