Yes, the career politicians are a major part of the problem. Who the hell do you think is most indebted to special interests? The longer they stay the more opportunity for corruption, pork, etc. That is exactly how they stay in office for decades.

Actually, the government worked better when we had earmarks.

And, last time I checked, the most recent case of corruption was Aaron Schock, a Tea Party type who managed to serve all of five years before turning his office into a Downton Abbey replica.

PP again. It's surprising the Dems even chose him as a leader given some of his conservative positions.

Reid has an interesting backstory. I'd heard the hardscrabble roots story,which is impressive. I had not heard the parts about him working as a Capitol Police officer, or helping the FBI with a sting operation again gambling interests. And the bomb under his wife's car? Crazy stuff.

I've never been a big Reid fan. He's too soft and too willing to cave in negotiations, probably in part because he had to worry about re-election in his own state. Schumer does not have that problem. I've been saying for years he should be the party leader. Of course because I have high expectations he's bound to disappoint me.

I will miss Mikulski and Boxer. Lots of retirements this term.

Even without great D support, Sestak will win and put Toomey out. The timing is huge.

How does a Democrat with bona fide military credentials make the case without upending HRC in a battleground state, let alone run against the Presidents record on a disaster of a foreign policy?
