Nope. Both are solid regionals.

Smart move! Even if you have all the money in the world there is no reason to waste it!

Interesting posts, some more helpful than others. Sounds like DD is leaning JMU, but appreciate all the insights.

I was going to say - both great schools. If there is in fact any difference in prestige surely it is negated by cost differential. James Madison is not the teeny little regional school prior poster is pretending it is.

I should add according to PayScale JMU grads are paid more....

I think NOVA Community College would be even cheaper, right?

Nice flamebait. But completely irrelevant.

I agree. We visited twice last year and each time the students and professors were so friendly and warm. Really inviting atmosphere.

No. Also not trying to knock on it, but it's not even that well-known on the east coast, outside of maybe the Mid-Atlantic/tri-state area.

I think of Lehigh for engineering not business.

Despite what the PP said, Lehigh does not have national name recognition....sorry to burst your bubble. That's not to say it's not a great school, but given the opportunity to have in-state tuition is huge IMO. Save that extra tuition money for graduate school, where it's becoming much more important to go to a school with strong name recognition.
