I'd love any and all fiction recommendations, but I'm very fond of speculative fiction/sci-fi/fantasy. Last book I read was Station Eleven and I really dug it.
What have you read and enjoyed lately? Bonus points if you think it's engaging enough not to notice you're stuck in coach for multiple flights!

Neal Stephenson -- The Diamond Age, Reamde, Cryptonomicon
Something More Than Night
The Rook
Three Parts Dead (The Craft Sequence)
The Magicians (The Magicians trilogy)
Wool (The Silo series)
2nd this choice. Not familiar with the others, but you can bet I'm going to look into them too.
I really enjoyed the Rook and The Magicians. The Magicians is like a (very) grown up Harry Potter. The Rook is just strange and original and fun.
