Unless you live in Country Club area, you can't get around the fact that Arlington is an urban area. Busy streets abound. And if you don't live on a busy street, you can bet the yours is a cut-throughs. Having said that, I love that I am so close to everything I need - nature trails, shopping, good schools, etc - without having to sit at stop lights and intersections for an interminable amount of time.

You are making no sense, FYI.

I'm a new poster, but we also excluded houses on busy streets in Arlington, including Williamsburg Blvd. To be fair, the house we looked at on Williamsburg was right on a large hill, and we wouldn't have been able to see cars coming from the west when turning in or out of the driveway- it was totally blind, which was an issue aside from the amount of traffic.

Anyway, we waited a couple of months and bought a different house on a side street. For the same/similar price, there were bigger houses on Williamsburg and Glebe, I know, when we were looking. Our kids are really little, and we were moving from a house on a busy 2 lane road, which I hated. To each her own- I'm sure many would take a larger house in exchange for more traffic. So there's one for you, and it's working out fine, thanks.

LOL. It's funny you say this every time people discuss busy roads. Just because you keep saying it doesn't make it true. As you can see from these posts many people don't want to live on a busy road.

To each her own, pp. It seems like it's VERY important to you that that others agree with you; the facts suggest otherwise, however. I see 16 posts here, only two of which have made that assertion anyway, and more people than not have said it's not that busy.

Work on your math and/or reading comprehension. I counted at least four before my own post.

Yeah, PP we have the same issue. I miss our busy road too because we are now on a hilly side street that feels like the last street in the entire county to see a plow...

During the last snowstorm, our neighbor's car slid right into a car parked down the street as he was trying to get out to work.

I live in a cul-de-sac now in Arlington but used to live on a busy road, and I miss it during a snowstorm because our street was one of the first to be plowed.
