Arresting someone for the thing y'all are suggesting is also a really big deal. There are processes to be followed, which include evidence being presented. If the big stacks of cash came from checks that Young's boyfriend cashed, that is something that can be verified. If it's cash from Tatum, I assume that can also be verified, given that the police were able to identify purchases he made before his death. How exactly do you want them to arrest and charge her with contributing to the death of a girl who has not been pronounced dead?
As for lying about where her daughter was, that actually doesn't surprise me. If she thought she was doing the best thing she could for her daughter (allowing her to live with someone she believed was trustworthy rather than in the shelter that Relisha hated), but knew that people would take issue with her actions, I am not surprised that she would fabricate a more sympathetic story.
Of course, it's possible that you all are completely right, that she was just a horrible person. But spare us the faux outrage. Most of the people on this site wouldn't have wanted Relisha in the same class as your kids and you know it.
I'm all for giving people the benefit of the doubt and I have a lot of sympathy for Relisha Rudd's mother, who grew up with few resources, role models, support, etc. I think the evidence suggests that she is an unfit mother but of course none of us know for sure.
But WTF are you talking about that none of us would want Relisha in their child's class? Why on earth not? This was a precious second-grader. A blameless innocent child. I wish she had been in my child's school, maybe they would have helped her more (which is not to malign Payne, especially when the school was the one who eventually realized Relisha was missing).
I think of that child all the time. It is heartbreaking.

Over and over I saw this. Its defeating. So unless you have actually worked in the field you really have no clue what you are talking about.

Get off your high horse. I wouldn't mind relisha rudd in school at all as long as her mother was in prison and lost all parental rights. This girl would be alive if CPS had more authority to sever the parental rights years ago. Where there is smoke there is usally fire. Multiple complaints of abuse but nothing big enough to remove the kids from the house? Give me a break. This woman never ever shoudl have had kids. I worked for ONE year in social services in another state and I can tell you wtih absolute certainty that until we offer free, comprehensive birth control we will never lift folks out of poverty or cycles of abuse. Relisha didn't stand a chance. Neither did her mom quite frankly. But now its too late. Relisha would have been better off in an orphanage than in an abusive neglectful house. I got out of social work because I realized its all politically driven and no one wants to state the reality which is that some people just can't be parents.

You know obviously jack about what it takes to be an educational aide. They're not exactly cream of the crop. Background checks can be essentially meaningless.
Mohamed Atta's visa was approved 6 months after 9/11, so if people don't recognize Rudd's mother by a different surname, I don't blame them: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documents/crime/six-months-later-ins-approves-terrorist-visas
At least she's trying to get a job and be a productive member of society. I don't think she should work with kids though.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:If she is a school aide and her boys are school age why would her job conflict with visitation? Wouldn't the boys be in school when she was at work? Do they pull kids out of school for visitation?
In my heart I know she sold her daughter to traffickers. I hope she never gets those boys back.
What makes you think this?
