OMG, reading this makes me so happy that I don't work for SG anymore. Did any of you stop to think that the nurses are managing TOO many patients and your real complaint should be towards the management. Now, I work for a smaller clinic and I have the time to give each patient the attention they need, please do not bash the nurses at SG it's their lack of training and management that is the real issue.

My nurse at SG was great for the first IVF. She left with out saying anything during my subsequent FET and I had the crappiest nurse ever. I ended up leaving SG because I was paying to much for the service they were giving me. My next clinic was stress free and I got pregnant!

My nurse always acted like it was my problem to deal with ordering rx refills once they wrote one script. I had to deal with all the refills myself and sometimes ask the nurse to have the amount upped based on the latest dosages as the cycles would change. It was on me to figure it out and ask for the right total amount of vials or be screwed mid-cycle. I did find out in one case that my insurance was charging me a max amount so I asked for my totals vials to be increased because there was no out of pocket difference to me to get more meds up front for multiple cycles.

PP, I would push them to get you an updated RX today. I had an issue like that on a Friday once, and they suggested I drive to the pharmacy in their office in Rockville which is against my insurer's policy. Instead my insurance wanted to ship the meds to me overnight, and they did after finally getting the RX from SG corrected.

Op here. I thinK my nurse may have screwed up again. This is getting ridiculous.... doesn't the clinic fill out the cycle sheets and send it to insurance? They only filled 22 vials of menopur but I need 33. They say the cycle sheet said I only needed 22 vials (2 vials x 11 days) so that's what was approved and filled despite the prescription being for 33 vials (3 vials x 11 days). Ok that makes sense somewhat. The nurse is insisting everything submitted was for 33 vials and that the insurance must be afraid we are requesting too much and wants to wait until Monday to send in the refill request. That does not make sense because we ordered less gonal F than my first cycle already. Can anybody weigh in? I only have enough to get me through Tuesday so I'm going to be so mad if I have to pay for the rest oop due to incompetence.

Also at SG, nurse actually emails written answers to all questions. I like her overall, but she goes on leave a lot, it worries me a bit. I'd love to get someone who already burned through their vacation days for the year...

Hated my SG nurse and RE, they were so formal and never really answered my questions, it's like they are given a corporate script. We moved on after 2 failed IUI's, and feel much more confident going forward with IVF.

My RE emailed me, but I only ever responded to her--never initiated. My nurse kept in excellent contact with my RE, so I knew everything I asked my nurse would be promptly responded to by my RE. I had a very positive experience at SG, but realize that others have not been as lucky.

I had a wonderful nurse during my first time doing IVF at SGF. Unfortunately she left. Now we are back ttc#2 and the nurse I have is nice enough but doesn't return calls or emails promptly. On occasion, she's missed an email or two as well. Sometimes I get calls around 6 or 6:30 pm which leaves me on pins and needles when waiting on results. We're starting a new cycle and there was a hiccup in the protocol which caused us to push back the start by a month.

Totally depends on your RE. The first RE I had at SG was an older gentleman whose business card did not include his email. I later switched to a different RE in the same office who's younger and his card had his email, and he was very good at getting back to me. He always called though, never replied to my questions in email.

Looking back I'm wondering if they only reply by phone b/c they do not want to put the answers in writing.

Yes, it's definitely because they don't want anything to be in writing. My nurse is the same way. I'll email her a question and 9 times out of 10 she will call back.

As an aside, I use the FO office this past week and they were really great. Friendly, engaging, even enthusiastic. The Dr. and the staff. K. St/ Rockville are definitely different. More about efficient, which I can appreciate given the volume, but it was interesting to see the differences.

On the topic. I think something personal/medical is going on with my nurse. She has been out of the office a lot. Not announced, but definitely a pattern of absences. I'll get a call back from her back up. Or get an out of office email response on specific days. Trying to give her the benefit of the doubt as she wasn't outstanding on my cycles last year.

I'm at SG Fair Oaks, and I've emailed both my RE and nurse. Both respond promptly. Now I'm in the DE program, so I deal with nurses in Rockville, but they're always prompt too. I wait no more than 2-3 hours for a return email.

My nurse at SG Fair Oaks never gave me an email, and I always have to call and leave a vm and she calls back later. My RE gave me his email early in the process. I have only emailed him a few times, but he has been super prompt in replying.

Not OP. I never got my RE's email address (tho I never asked either).

My wife is in the shared risk program now, and we have our nurse's email address. She's also very prompt about returning phone calls.
