I don't think you should feel badly at all. It sounds very generous given your circumstances.
This will be our first year. We will probably do about the same. We receive a small amount of FA and the tuition is still a huge stretch. However, I want to give what we can because we are so incredibly appreciate of the generosity of others that make our child's attendance at the school even possible. We also hope to contribute to the school through a high rate of volunteerism.

Anonymous wrote:Filling the gap is part real and part fiction. Part of the "gap" is the difference between full tuition and what families who receive FA pay. Depends on your perspective if that is a real cost of your child's education (because he/she benefits form that economic diversity) or not.
My rule of thumb -- I used to give about 10% above regular tuition for each child at the school. Of course, the more kids you have the tougher that gets.
