How would you describe the average resident in Kalorama? Young yuppies, empty nesters, families with older kids? etc....

Chevy Chase DC is lovely and warm and friendly, but prestigious? No. Real estate prices have shot up everywhere since the early 2000's but until that relatively recent time middle income people could buy there. Also, a neighborhood full of 3br, not updated homes would hardly ever be considered exclusive in the DC area.

If I could live anywhere in this area, it would be Chevy Chase, MD.

Native here. Chevy Chase DC would be way down on my list of most prestigious neighborhoods, although it would be high on my list of preferred neighborhoods if I still lived in DC (we are in CCMD now.) PPs have some good suggestions of more prestigious neighborhoods above, my list would definitely include Kalorama, Massachusetts Avenue Heights, Wesley Heights, Kent, Cleveland Park, Forest Hills and Spring Valley.

The masses think it is Georgetown. The rich think it is Kent. I actually don't prefer either.

OP, Chevy Chase, MD is more of what you're looking for. Chevy Chase DC is more mixed (but still extremely lovely).

To answer OP, I would say Mass Ave Heights and Kalorama.

To answer PP, I would say Cleveland Park, Spring Valley.

I have lived here for 30 years and have never heard of Bradley Estates.

Which of all the series mention would you say attracts families with let's say teenagers Thst attend private school? In other words which attracts families?

I think Kalorama is the most exclusive. I don't think of Spring Valley, Wesley Height, etc. as being that rarified.

I sort of agree with you as if you ask random aspirational people they might say Georgetown simply because the don't know the other areas. Ask people with money and a fraction decide to stay in the city (a lot of foreigners, state and corporate entities own many of the estate level DC proper properties) with the many choosing the afore mentioned communities. My vote would be Bradley Estates, it's very nice but there are sections of Potomac and mcLean that are just as nice.

Spring Valley has a simply stunning concentration of movers and shakers too.

Edgewood=Edgemore.

Georgetown, Woodland-Normanstone, Spring Valley, CCMD. These are old money areas. Edgewood and the like are great, but relatively new money. "Foxhall" is a little bit of both.

I don't think that most prestigious = highest income. Really it is a perception of exclusivity, old money, etc. I think that it still may be Georgetown for the DC area.
