Tiny Jewel Box sells plenty of DY pieces, including to me. I like chunky jewelry since I am tall, broad shouldered, and professionally powerful. More for me since no one else on this thread likes it .

I don't get it's popularity. The stones are semi precious and everything is mostly silver. The designs and the finish of the pieces doesn't justify the cost.

I don't think op will be able to get much of a ring fabricated for $900. Op, I'd go check out Vienna Jewelers or Tysons Exchange. They are kinda new jewelry and kinda pawn shop.

a PP - I happened to be in Lord and Taylor today and walked by the "fine jewelry" section, and saw something that caught my eye. I ended up buying a Yurman-like silver ring, 14 carat gold trim, oval citrine ring for $120. It's sort of like Yurman in style but obviously not. Compared to my diamond, the stone seems to be almost 2 carat. I really like it. So thanks OP for the idea. I had a gift card left over from Christmas so it totally fit the bill and if my birthstone.

Honestly I think I'd go check out some jewelry stores - like Tiny Jewel Box - and see what appeals.

That's nice. But the topic is David Yurman, not cheap costume jewelry.

I really don't like Yurman at all. The pieces look too similar and to me it's kind of like Coach. I prefer custom jewelry that is unique and doesn't scream a particular designer. If you are considering something custom, Dominion Jewelers in Falls Church does great work. You can use what you like about Yurman as an inspiration point and customize to make it more you. They are very creative there.

It's like the movado watches of the 80s/90s. Dated.

I have several, but not the chunky ones. My ring is one of my favorites. I think it is a very classic look. I'm 40 and have been wearing Yurman for about 12 years. I don't wear a lot of it on any given day. I mean that if I wear a Yurman ring, I probably won't put on a Yurman bracelet or earrings. Everything in moderation.

I don't think that it is going out of style - partly because I've noticed that the designs change with the times.

I may be an outlier here but I don't think Yurman is dated rather a matter of taste. Dated usually means unpopular. Yurman pieces still sell very well. Please provide links to alternative pieces.

I like some of their dainty gold rings with thin band but don't care about those solitaire style rings with big colored stones.
