CCRM investigates thoroughly, they have a fabulous lab, they keep up with the latest research, they make decisions based on science not superstition (like the idea that biopsying and testing embryos hurts them), they have fabulous testing, and decisions are made about treatment based on what they see, as it develops, not on fixed protocols. The horrendous carelessness and decisions made for convenience I've seen at other clinics through the experiences of me and my friends (delayed retrieval because an embryologist is on vacation, early retrieval so as not to have to open on a weekend) are just not done there.

CCRM is also EXPENSIVE. So it is a gamble. You may be the among those that they can't help. CCRM is your best shot but it's not a sure shot.

Having seen so many women deal with them, and having had a phone consult myself, I can say with confidence that CCRM is not the kind of place that would bother with propaganda on a board like this.

You know who spreads propoganda about CCRM? DC REs who have nothing to offer in the way of individualized care, who dismiss CCRM's stats, or say they can't do anything for you that they (the DC REs) can't do. THAT is propoganda, they're protecting their business.

CCRM is the gold standard. That said 1) everyone can't afford the gold standard and 2) even the gold standard can't guarantee every family a biological child. Some people will not be able to find that golden egg despite the best help.

Thank you. One of the worst things about infertility is the inequality. It's simply not fair that not everyone gets access to the best care or has the financial means or the sort of employer that covers it. Having to make decisions based on money makes it even more challenging.

Oh wait - maybe you are the DC area doctor who couldn't remember that I had done two IVF cycles with you in the past year, and treated me like a criminal for asking you for statistics and studies to back up your assertions.

What made them light years ahead on the consult? They had clearly reviewed my file, and came into the consult with well-defined questions. They made several specific recommendations and backed them up with specific studies. They actually wrote up a letter after the consult with recommendations and protocols.

It was like being seek at Hopkins for cancer vs. your local mediocre hospital (which I have done, by the way).

Why so nasty?

To the person that posted SART data, you might as well work for CCRM because you are disseminating bullshit if you trust any thing fro SART. They are controlled by the big clinics and thus manipulating the data.

How long do you think it will take for CCRM marketing to post "happy patient" stories on this site? I guarantee there will be some soon.

No dear CCRM marketing person. We will not do your job for you by identifying the stuff that you need to fix. Go F yourself.

What is your problem? This is just plain nasty.

Have they been doing some sort of marketing here? No, they have not.
I'm the poster who put a link to the SART numbers up a couple of days ago. I did that as a public service. All things being equal, local clinics do not measure up to some of the out-of-state places. And I'm a patient at a local clinic. When you're spending tens of thousands of dollars, you deserve to have the very best.

So what was it specifically that made them light years ahead during your one-time consult?
