Volunteer as a coach for a kids sport.

Single moms go to bars on occasion, I know I would go for girls nights. Also, other social gatherings of friends/neighbors. When they'd have a party, I'd usually be one of only a few single people there. So, I'd reach out to friends to see if they know anyone.

Are any of your friends married with kids? Between neighbors, their kids in school, their kids in activities, work, etc. they've gotta know single moms.

Most divorced women in DC share custody on a 50-50% basis with the ex. If a divorced mom in DC ends up with sole custody, either Dad opted out or he has a history of some awful stuff (physical abuse, drug use affecting his parenting, etc.) Those are the cases where I might wonder about the divorced mom, or more specifically why she made such a bad choice in her ex.

But who would want to be with a woman responsible enough to maintain an amicable 50/50 custody situation with her ex, with enough free time to go out, but too busy to be needy-sound horrible!

Thanks girl. Yeah I'm such a terrible catch with an intelligent & loving child, a high-paying & flexible job, and plenty of friends. I'm a very giving person and my social life is more about supporting friends than finding men or partying. As another poster already pointed out, I share custody. OP I hope you find someone good for you!

Wow, OP. I'm a PP (the 2nd 31yo mom). I wondered, honestly. Sorry to hear that. You should probably go online and filter for women with kids. And look for rings when you see a woman with kids. You would probably be ideal for someone with sole custody like a GF of mine.

In that case... online, or maybe places (and I am guessing here and hoping none of this will seem condescening) like the grocery store, places like the Barnes and Noble in bethesda- kind of community type places where moms will take their kids. They also go out to bars and clubs, but if you want to find specifically a single mom I would say go to places where moms go with their kids. You will just have to take a good look at a woman's left hand before you decide whether to approach or not.
