I'm not understanding the problem? why would a business award criteria have anything to do with your economic background and struggles? Its a Business Awards...meaning if ur great in Business and area a leader u might get recognize....what are U REALLY MAD AT? That Blacks have an award ceremony geared towards them. Not every black person was born poor...Sheila Johnson wasn't her Father was a Neurosurgeon...she took her upper class background and made the best out of it. Lets be honest ur mad at blacks/minorities getting recognized, thats the real issue

About 1/3d of the people on the list are Asian, then some Latinos in there also. So the only purpose of this is to recognize successful people who happen to be non-White.

I agree that it worked for Obama - white grandparents, expensive prep school, affirmative action to Columbia and Harvard Law and internships. Who knows if he even paid a nominal fee for anything given his Phd liberal arts birth mom had low income, his father(s) were awol, and his grandparents paid the bills if they were even billed a fraction of sticker price.

And I also agree that being a full-time community activist living off donations from eternal campaigning does not create business, management, leadership, foreign diplomacy nor budgeting skills.

Secondarily, being swept up in numbers games for affirmative action likely makes one think a combination of two things: (1) I'm super great and better than anyone else, and (2) Life is so easy for me, nothing is a struggle and normal metrics (grades, real life experience) don't matter.

Yea Because George Bush was a total Genius and got to where he was by hard work? and pulling himself up by his boot straps LMAO. Everyone who really knows, knows that WHITE WOMEN and GAY WHITE MALES have benefited the most from Affirmative Action 100 times more than any black person Also blacks haven't benefited from serious Affirmative Action in the work place in close to 2 decades....look at any application the focus is on LATINOS not African Americans and it has been that way for YEARS
