Send her a check and be done with it. It was not very professional of her not to say "I have a business and these are $1 each" but if she is a mom you see often, then just pay her.
Lesson learned, decline those 'offers" in the future.

A dollar a pop is cheap. Also, don't ask her to tell you a price, you are creating more awkwardness for her by doing that. Just drop off an envelope.

Ask her how much you owe her, and if she tells you the list price, pay it. If you were concerned about the price, you should have asked her in advance. I wouldn't have assumed a near-stranger would do that for me for free.

That said, it's a little unusual that she didn't tell you the cost when you made the arrangements, and hasn't contacted you about payment since. So it sounds like perhaps a less formal arrangement than people here are envisioning, but for the sake of kindness and community harmony, offering to pay is the right thing.

Send her an email or facebook message ASAP. Tell her how beautiful and delicious her work was. Thank her and ask how much you owe her. And apologize for the delay in getting back to her!

You should pay her list prices. What were you thinking? Next time, ask what it would cost if that is a problem for you.

It sucks that there was no "contract" but you should pay her if you can afford to. Yes, list price.

We had a similar issue when a friend offered to help put some #s on some jerseys when we were having a hard time finding a specific thing. He insisted, we sent the shirts over, they came back ASAP with a bill for a lot of money! We paid it, but we were a little annoyed.
