We're considering CLC, but I had heard that they allow high school students to do 'community service' there. Does anyone know how this works?

Do the high school kids have direct contact with the preschoolers? Are the teachers still present, if the high school kids are around? This makes me a bit nervous, but I'm not exactly sure how it works.

You should go see for yourself. We are there and it is very nice. It not a pit and most of the teachers are Jewish. They will let you tour the facility and observe a class.

What's the issue with not having Jewish teachers?

We just finished in Storyland and the teachers were very good, warm, and caring. They were very creative and did a remarkable number of activities with the children while they were there. The children were very happy and had a tremendous amount of growth throughout the year. The atmosphere is very inclusive and the teachers are very experienced and accomadating of children with delays. They are flexible and happy to try different approaches to best work with your child. Good luck with your decision.

I'm thinking about placing my 2 1/2 yr old in CLC. He is very speech delayed and has never been in a formal classroom. We're hoping that the structure of preschool will be helpful. I'm leaning towards CLC but can't seem to bring myself to sign on the dotted line.

I heard that CLC is very inclusive and staff are very accomodating of children with delays. Although a bit of trek for me, I decided to check it out. Since it's the summer, I observed their informal camp program rather than a structured classroom morning. The school was very old but the classrooms seemed clean and organized. I liked that they have the gym for indoor play. The music program seems nice, but I'd expect any preschool to offer music 1x a week. The staff were very friendly and didn't rush me out. I was impressed with the inclusive attitude and scheduling flexibility.

Given that I haven't really seen the class in action and the tuition is very expensive (when compared with similar programs), I'm still hesitant. Has anybody had a child in the storyland classroom? Is the teacher good? Is it a warm and fuzzy atmosphere in that particular classroom? Are the children happy and calm? I'm really concerned about signing a contract commiting to the entire year. What if the program isn't a good match for my son or I'm not happy with the teacher?

I should also mention that I have 2 older kids and loved their preschool. It was perfect in every way. The only reason I will not be placing my son there is they can't take him in the morning and he naps in the afternoon.

Typically in most centers there will be green noses at some point. Colds spread like wildfire at certain times of the year. And classrooms can get dirty young kids (but the teachers are usually good about cleaning it up). Between painting, drawing, playing, snacks, etc I'd almost be worried if the classroom wasn't a little messy at the end of the day.

Just the fact that you had to justify your post but stating that your not a troll tends to cast suspicion on your post.

Honestly, I haven't had any personal experience there but I've heard great things about the school. OP, just like with any other place visit it and see what you think.

The school can give you the specific tuition amount (301-871-6600) and send you an application. The morning hours are 9:30 to 1 daily but there are many options if you want/need a longer day. The school is open from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. You should definitely stop by if you are interested. We love it there!

Not at all. As is discussed in previous posts, there are many non-Jewish families at the school.

Is the CLC is for only Jewish people?
