Not PP but when my DC was in high school the bus picked him up at 6:45 am, and I usually picked him up from sports practice at 5. I could work a full day in between. When they were in elementary school they went to aftercare and I picked them up between 5 and 6. They did their homework and had classes (like tae kwon do, private music lessons, etc) during aftercare so it was the same stuff they'd be doing if I picked them up at 3:15 and shuttled them around.

I drop 1 son at his bus at 6:45 and the bus drops him off until 420.
My h drives the younger son.
I get to work at 7 and leave at 3:30, get son 2 at 3:45 and son 2 at 4:20.

Sometimes they have sports so pick up is later.

I can't answer for myself yet, because my kids are too young (both in ES).

But I'm super close with my mom, who always worked. She and my dad divorced when I was really little, so it's not like she could've SAH even if she'd wanted to. But she didn't want to.

She was a teacher, and I can tell you, she has no regrets about working, OP! She loved her job (only retired a few years ago, after more than 40 years). And she knows that I don't regret her working, either! I had a wonderful childhood with her, and I always felt like she was there when I needed her.
