You will be just fine on that income. My DH makes the same and we also live in Clarendon and I SAH. You'll need baby sitters only occassionally for things like dentist appts, but I often schedule those when family comes to town to visit or when DH can take a few hours off work. Of course if you have more money you may want to hire a sitter more often to give yourself a break, but that is optional.
Some expenses go up, diapers, maybe a little more takeout in the early days when you're too tired to cool. But we go out way less often, I wear cheap target clothes instead of more expensive work clothes. Baby activities are pretty cheap, check arlington county's mommy and me classes.

If you are staying home to get a nanny then I am confused. Surely you know you can afford an occasional babysitter.
Surely she knows that she can afford to have children on a 250k hhi. But she doesn't "know" because she is a troll.

Possibly, but I think it's always a risk to get off the career carousel. I'm going to assume it won't be easy to get back to my old position and salary so that's why I ask if we can afford to SAH on just DH's income.
we make it on 100k - you will be just fine unless you have some huge expense we are unaware of.
