Cute! I like names that give people lots of options as they grow.

You probably give your kids names like Madison and Taylor.

Nope. I just think Sally is a terrible name.

Sally here, and it is my real name! But Sally as a nickname for Sarah is nice.

Awful. Sally is a terrible name. Even for a dog.

Because OP wants Sarah for the name and Sally for the nickname.

19:57 I was correct!

Simon married fellow singer-songwriter James Taylor on November 3, 1972.[106] Simon and Taylor had two children, Sarah "Sally" Maria Taylor

I believe Carly Simon's daughter, Sally was given the name Sarah.

Yes, Sally is very old nickname for Sarah and like Nancy for Ann, has become its own stand alone name.

Did you know Molly = Margaret? Jack = John? Kitty = Katherine? Betty = Elizabeth?

Sally was our girls' name!!! Three boys and one vasectomy later, I think that ship has sailed. Suffice it to say I love it. We were going to do just Sally but i think it's lovely as a nickname for Sarah too. And I have definitely heard of that.

Sarah here, and never in my life have I heard this or been called Sally!!

Look into old literature. Sally was the traditional nickname for Sarah. Like Nancy was the traditional nickname for Anne.

And just because something is not know by you does not make in nonexistent!

do you know how many personalized gifts that people receive about their name in their lifetime? I know my name is Hebrew for princess, a million times over, I know every pop song or whatever random things people want to tell me about related to my name. Just because I don't know it, doesn't mean I think it is not true...just clearly not something I encountered in 35 years of living with the name- meaning not at all widely excepted.

I knew it and my name isn't even Sara/h!
