I don't understand? Nobody at Hoover is in compacted math. Hoover is a middle school. Compacted math is math 4/5 in fourth grade and math 5/6 in fifth grade, in elementary school.
Based on the number of 6th grade students taking IM vs taking Math 6 --- yes, compacted math is at ES -- but they will reflect in middle school once they move into
SO you have the statistics for all of the feeder schools?

Anonymous wrote:How are there only 120 kids in 6th grade at Hoover? Or did you mean there is the same percentage in compacted math at Hoover (50%)? At my child's es (a Pyle feeder), ~25 out of 125 kids are in compacted math, and another 10 kids left for an HGC this year who also qualified. There are a number of kids I would have thought belonged in it as well, but either they missed the arbitrary cut off or their parents declined. My kid is in compacted math so no sour grapes. I am not impressed by the class at all, anyway - they may be going faster than the regular math classes, but it is no more interesting or engaging for my child.

Anonymous wrote:Lots of bullying at Hoover. Lots. Don't kid yourself.

I think this is the right number here at Hoover
So half the kids at Hoover will be in compacted math? Wow.
