This thread should be deleted. The racism, the hatred on here is stomach churning. You people are monstrous.

George Zimmerman would agree with you.

I doubt it. DC has the strictest gun laws In the country.

It's very, very far from "completely kosher legally in DC" to walk around with a handgun.

Well, I am terrified to hear you say something like that when I have nearby law-abiding neighboring family who live in AU Park with their 2 very tall black sons who walk to and from Deal and GDS everyday to their homes. They have dogs too, so I suppose you'll shoot them if you see them walking towards you at night on Brandywine with their dogs (or maybe just walking while black!).

The two suspects are at large in an area that usually doesn't see much violent crime. According to age estimates provided by DC police, the robbers could be students. Here is the description:

Crime Alert 2nd District (PSA 201-208)
Alert: Robbery at 1620 hrs in the 48th St W and Brandywine St NW. Lookout for 2 B/Ms, 15-17yrs: Suspect (1) 5'8, slim, dark complexion, white t shirt, blue jeans. Suspect (2) 5'7, slim, blk Northface jkt, dark blue jeans.DO NOT TAKE ACTION CALL 911

Students of what/where?

And why are they always black?

The series of car thefts last year in AU Park was done by a pair of white teens from the area. I live in AU Park and happen to know one the kids. Actually it's the whites (Gypsies and Tinker Irish) that do the repeated crimes around here (bike thefts, burglaries) they are able to move around the neighborhood undetecteded. This robbery sounds like a weird isolated event.

No offense...but one thing about robberies and burglaries.

I know that some of you think that buying into AU Park and the like means you have bought into this crime-free Nirvana. But robbers and burglars tend to go where the takes are easy and where the money is. The variable is transportation.

But I agree with PP that 2 robberies in 4 months would not really be a significant uptick although I do no know there have been more incidents near the Tenleytown and Friendship Heights metro stations. The risks of living in a wealthy part of town I guess.

Signed,

Friendship Heights resient.

It was getting bad a couple of years ago when we moved out of the neighborhood. Wasn't there a family on 45th & Brandywine who were robbed on the street in front of their house about two years ago?

Anonymous wrote:Well, robberies are way up in my fancy, schmancy Potomac neighborhood in the last six months. We have had at least five robberies in the last few months -- all were just jewelry taken. Police think it may be a group of gypsies casing the neighborhood. That's more robberies than in the last three years prior combined.

Most happened in the daytime. Three of them involved unlocked doors. Two involved broken windows to gain entry.

I can assure you that this increase is statistically significant.

I think you are referring to burglaries, as concerning as they are. Robberies are when someone demands or grabs your valuables under threat of violence, often brandishing or suggesting they have a gun or a knife.

at that age they are more likely to be Wilson students if they actually are students.

I find scary that they might be as young as 15 and almost 6 feet tall. a lot of body but not a lot of brain at that age, even without a gun is a dangerous situation (with a gun it's way worse obviously)
