I eat half for lunch the next day, but my 9 year old will eat half for dinner and then go back and finish it later for a snack. No big deal really. My ds gets the oven roasted chicken with lots of vegetables and the sweet onion sauce (no mayonnaise or anything). It's pretty healthy I think.

well i was going to eat that 1/2 or 1/4...

We've been known to stop by Jommy Johns mid afternoon when we haven't gotten around to lunch when doing errands. 5yo boy often eats the whole thing.

I would not have given it a second thought.

+1. At this age it might just be a growth spurt, but the amount of food that my stepson eats is unreal and he's not even a super active athlete or anything. Our grocery bills just about double when he's with us. We eat healthy meals, but I keep the cabinets and freezer stocked with things like peanut butter and frozen burritos since he eats nonstop.

Six feet tall, probably only about 165lbs, just the metabolism and activity level of a teenage boy.

Three bowls of cereal and a 2# bag of Pizza Rolls is a pre-dinner snack :o

Be grateful you don't have 3 boys. Our food and milk bill was incredible during the high school years. You almost need to start a food fun before puberty to keep up.

Obviously you aren't feeding DC enough.

So, when did your food issues start?

You could always encourage him to get more veggies on there, if you're worried. And less processed meats?

Probably more related to growth spurts than anything. It also depends on how active they are too.

Wow. You PPs all amaze me. My same-aged children have bird-like appetites in comparison.

My 9-year ok'd can easily knock that back.

He can eat an entire pizza if I let him.

Very active kid. Not chubby.

Just remember, OP, that your 10 yo is still growing vertically.

I think you need to eat something.
