We've had a terrific experience at WES. I firmly believe that the WES science program is the best in DC at the elementary and middle school levels. (I don't want to say why but I know quite a bit about independent school science programs in this region.) With the sad passing of Mr. A, though, the school will have to work hard to retain that quality. I can't wait to see what the new Head of School does.
I've long thought that if WES would set its tuition price slightly lower to be competitive with, say Primary Day or Grace instead of St Pats and Beauvoir, there would be a huge surge in demand for the school. The school doesn't have the swank campus, and in my opinion, doesn't need it. Why not keep tuition down and let the others overbuild?
+1. Although I think they did just lower tuition for the earliest years.
