But I agree with the people who ask why you need to buy a sofa just to stage your home?

Go back and read the OP again. All is answered for you.

I think posters are questioning why the OP wouldn't just rent a sofa for this.

Because she wanted to use it in the new house also.

That said, OP's first post was in January, so presumably her home has sold by now.

Presumably so. But it would be silly to buy any old sofa just because it was available when you are trying to furnish a new house. I hope she chose more carefully.

Crate and Barrel has a 14 day delivery policy on many pieces of furniture. Usually they have 2 neutral fabric choices that ship that fast.

Why not rent a sofa?

I was just at hamiltons near rockville pike (not on it). There are several floor samples right now for under 800. And neutral fabrics.

OP - if practicular, there are a number of companies that lease furniture just for this purposes (staging). You just call them and they come in and stage rooms for you (or real estate agents).

It's hit or miss, but they had half a dozen last week. I bought one there, and the only problem was some dirt on the washable slip cover. The flaws are usually pretty minor.

We bought our living room sofa here, and love it. It was a floor model and had nothing wrong with it. It has worn beautifully in the two years that we have had it. It's the color that is pictured as the default online, so color options are probably limited, but there were at least 7 or 8 different sofas there when we went. We have the "Aidan" (I think) sofa which is contemporary and a medium gray color that goes well with lots of colors and decors. They delivered it for us later that day (it's a big sofa).
