How many dishes do you do that this is a big deal?

Can't you just run it overnight? I do this. Leave breakfast dishes in sink, empty dishwasher while dinner is cooking, then put in dishes from dinner and run overnight.

But yes, they are usually a standard size, so you could replace email just the dw and retain it in your kitchen remodel if you wanted.

My new Thermador (same maker as Bosch) takes a couple of hours to wash. There is a quick cycle that is just over an hour as well that I use if I've had a dinner party and need to do a second cycle that night.
I run it every night after dinner. Then in the morning, I unload and in go that day's dishes. The long cycle doesn't bother me- it's quiet, so I don't hear it.

Our high end Miele takes 2 hours. I just run it when it's full and empty it the next chance I have. Sometimes that's morning, sometimes evening.
