Saint Anselm's Abbey in NE DC (right at the boarder of PG), has summer programs for boys and girls 7-14. They have a multi-sport program soccer, tennis and basket ball. Kids can do morning, afternoon or both. It's a really good program that both my kids (boy and girl) have enjoyed for several years.

The Ancestral Knowledge camps are outdoors in the woods.

I definitely recommend the ancestral knowledge camps. The kids spend all day in the woods learning outdoor skills. They come home tired and dirty. They love it!

Here is a brand new camp at Christ Church in Arlington. It is very similar to Camp Kids Place at Cherrydale Baptist.

My kids have liked gymkana and Impulse City camps. The Greenbelt rec center had excellent camps also, starting at age 3.5 (must be toilet trained).

We did a UMD art camp last summer and my artsy DD didn't really care for it.

Another vote for Brentwood Arts Exchange! My son had a blast doing this. Don't overlook the County Parks options. There are a bunch of great programs (camp offered at BAA is one of them), and before and aftercare are available.

If you have a kid who likes woodsy/outdoorsy stuff, Ancestral Knowledge runs some interesting camps. My son has done daycamp and an overnight camp with them. I picked him up at the end of overnight camp, and I've never seen him look dirtier or happier.

We had good experiences at the camps at Friends School and the The Art and Learning Center at UMD.

My daughter seemed to like Holy Trinity in Bowie.
