Good. That is an appropriate consequence for your puerile behavior. I hope you learned a lesson.

Anybody who ever built an empire or
changed the world sat where you are now.
And it's because they sat there
that they were able to do it.

In the text I said how my boss pronounced it "Taylor swish" instead of swift.

My coworker and I had a falling out and he told my boss to be an asshole

Maybe you can use this as a learning experience.

First, take responsibility for your own actions. What you did was wrong and immature. Rather than own up to that, you seem to be dead set on blaming your co-worker for outing you. Yes, what your co-worker did was kind a d-bag move - but YOU were the one who sent the inappropriate text. Own up to it. Recognize that it was wrong.

Next, APOLOGIZE. You were in the wrong. You know the boss knows. Let him know that it was immature of you. Apologize. You may still get fired, but going to him and admitting your mistake shows some maturity.

Finally, stop texting in the work place. This is a place to get work done - not play around on your mobile device. Focus on work.

This has got to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Sounds to me like both you and co-worker are too immature for the workplace.

Uh huh.

It is everyone else's fault, not yours. Everyone else is obnoxious and unreasonable, not you.

I am sure they would agree 100% with that version of events.

But we don't know that. There could have been additional content in the message that made it entirely appropriate for the coworker to show it to the boss. What if the OP "jokingly" said "you should kill him"? Since the OP is clearly stupid, lacks all boundaries, and displays a belligerent, psycho attitude, we cannot rule this out.

Actually, YOU threw your boss under the bus by name-calling a JERK. Your boss can't trust you now. You need to be fired. Your job is to make your boss look good. No boss wants a subordinate who isn't cool about the fact that you will have a boss at any job unless you are self-employees, and then your customers or clients are the boss.
