OP - as long as you don't have PII (other people's SSN, DOB..etc.) or classified info (OUO, Conf, ..etc.) you shouldn't be in too much trouble. Your computer wasn't encrypted?

Still freaking out, bc its just so weird. I cant even imagine where it could be. I went from work to home and haven't touched my bag since I got home - never took it out. I emailed my supervisor but I'll talk to the IT people in the morning.

My friend just did some accidental damage to her laptop and there were so many forms and statements, I cant imagine what this will entail.

Check the trunk of the car, check under the seats. Did you go back into the office for any reason? It's probably somewhere....

Contact your ISSO and ask for direction. At our agency you would need to call the local police and file a report before he/she would step in. Good luck!

I'd be surprised if your agency doesn't have a procedure in place to handle these situations. You should contact your supervisor about how to proceed. At our agency, the employee must file a police report right away if it was stolen and notify the building/IT security as well.
