I don't think that PGD risks approach the same risk of a trisomy even in a younger donor. If you can afford it OP, i would get another set of donor eggs and test all of them with PGD to avoid more miscarriages. Not sure it would be worth the high fee to test one egg. Sorry about the miscarriage- so difficult.

The odds of the remaining embryo having a trisomy are extremely low...You unfortunately got some terrible luck with your first, but I would guess that PGD's risks start to approach that of a second trisomy from the same donor.

Another DE mom here. A friend from my donor egg group has twins from DE, one of them has Down Syndrome (trisomy 21). It is less common with younger eggs, but does occur. The chances of the other embryo being affected is extremely small. If it were me, I would skip PGD.

My heart is heavy for you. I just went through a second trimester miscarriage with trisomy 18 with my own egg. Starting the DE journey this spring. I was talked out of considering the PGD, but I just don't know if I can go through a painful loss again. After a couple of consults on this subject, I would personally go for the embryo without the testing as to not potentially harm it. I wish you much success!!

To answer OP's question, we did PGS on our embryos from a DE. We put in the best two, which were rated with the highest rating then organization gives, and only one took. So there really are no guarantees.

+1 making those DEs is a big process. I would not risk anything with the last one left. We tried 3 different donors before we succeeded, so I know that it is a long process. (Also miscarriaged, too -- very hard, I am so sorry OP)
