OP, I totally agree. You invite people to come over to do your housework, and they have the nerve to bring some help? What are people thinking these days? It's the end of civility, I tell you.

Wow

+1 OP is unbelievable. Why can't you and your DH clean your own house ! And you complain because she brought help. Man, I hope your friend reads this.

New Mom. You will laugh at this when you have your 2nd. Not judging, been there.

How old is your baby?
Who had the "injury"?

I think many of us want more information on what exactly this is about.
Did you do an evite?
I'm leaving myself open to the possibility you and your husband are disabled or had a family emergency or something that made this a group effort

Yes, one of had an unexpected injury right after Christmas so we needed the help.

I should have said "asked our friends for help" instead of "invited". But I only asked close friends to help who I would've done the same for if they'd asked me.

Of course you did.

OP, the fact that you 'asked' for help rather than invited people over makes it even less of an issue that she brought another person along. It wasn't a dinner party. It wasn't a birthday party. Usually people are happy to have extra hands when they need help.

Why would anyone want to come over to help you take out your garbage?

OP, you are one anxious FTM, your reaction is understandable. A friend of a friend should not have come, but she probably is unaware of how dangerous colds can be for newborns. Saying that, there is a very little chance the baby will actually get sick, so you should let it go.

You asked for help. Your friend brought another mutual friend with her to help you. And you're now complaining? This is your first kid, right?

I'm sorry, but if you and your DH can't manage to take down your own decorations you shouldn't have put them up. Your "invite" was rude.

If this was any other type of gathering in my home would it make a difference as to coming uninvited?

Maybe a dinner party. Typically people do ask before they bring other people over but not always. And this is not the kind of friend that does. Either you understand that this is how she is or be very specific when you invite people over or just don't invite her anymore because you don't like random people tagging along with her at your house or when you hang out with her.

I think it is weird to ask people to take down yr Xmas decorations. If you don't have the bandwidth to do that, don't put them up to start.
