How do you monitored your own blood work?

Your results are available the next day (in mid-morning) in your online personal account. In my prior IVF cycles I kept meticulous records of bloodwork results, so I knew what's normal for me in terms of a stimulated cycle for various protocols and dosages of meds. I am a data nerd. Also spent massive amounts of time reading research on Pubmed (on IVF in general, not just for the unmonitored cycles).
Do they let you order blood work yourself? Don't you need a doctor's orders?

Anonymous wrote:I would do this actually. It's not like it's your first time using the meds. You know how your body reacts.
Anonymous wrote:I'm doing it right now with left over menopur meds. We've just had our 4th failed ivf. That's $40 thousand now down the drain! I have the drugs, I've paid for them, I'm monitoring my cycle so we'll know when we are ovulating and try naturally! Why not. Good luck to you love, I say go for it. You know your body. When you really want a baby (or multiples!) you'll try anything and everything right? I'm sure there are a lot of women who have done this!!

Before IVF, I did Follistim at 50 units/day and produced 3 embryos with timed intercourse. That resulted in a baby with Turner's Syndrome and MC at 12 wks. Our issue is egg quality, not fertilization. I also have leftover menopur. Is this crazy, or what would you do?

Well, it's not like her ovaries are going to explode, given that she knows how her body reacts to a low dose. Worst case scenario is high order multiples, and that's unlikely (though not impossible) if last time she only produced three.
I think it would be difficult because, assuming that you have a trigger shot, you wouldn't know when to trigger. But if she's not using the trigger shot, and can just have sex every other day during the right window, then why not?
