It's fake. Why not actually visit a castle?

I haven't been with our kids yet, but had no idea people looked down at disney. Who cares? We will probably take them when they are a little older.

I don't look down on it. It just isn't something that I find fun. My son likes it, but the time that I went with him he got really overstimulated and acted insane. Now he goes with his grandparents once a year. Works for all of us.

Us as well. We even own a Disney time share! It's fabulous. Whenever we go, we can just relax and have a good time. And we can take our kids to any restaurant --- because Disney loves kids instead of tolerating them.

Maybe if your children were better behaved...

Not PP, but you know good and damned well most nice/niceish restaurants are not pleased about kids as patrons, well behaved or not. Stop it.

If you went anywhere else domestically, I wouldn't care, but going Disney is just admitting fealty to our corporate overlords. But maybe I know too many families who identify with Disney to a terrifying degree. I'm sorrynotsorry, no one whose last name is not Disney should have a Disney tattoo.[/quote]

Stop it! No one has a Disney tattoo. I refuse to believe it

OP here. I thought there were so many better places to visit in the world - France, Spain, Greece, Italy, China, Thailand, Japan, etc. Life is drastically different with young children. I hope to pick up better travel once the kids are older.

Okay, so you were late to this realization and had no empathy before. And it sounds like you want to get out of the 'disney years' as soon as possible so you can get back to your cool vacations, you just don't want to be judged in the meantime. Got it, but you can't control that. Wear your mouse ears with pride

Like a brilliant PP posted up three, visiting "Disney" is akin to vacationing to McDonald's (Playland).

Because it's based on children's movies. Seriously? You can't find anything better to do on vacation?

It is fun to feel superior.
