Yes, yes it is. Next to the bakery, that terrible bakery. Just ask the lady for it. It's good stuff, stinks, tastes great.



I should try it! I hope it's authentic-tasting. I've been afraid to try Number 1 Sons Kimchi because I got burned by a farmers' market artisanal kimchi in different city.


Number 1 Sons is awesome. Nothing to fear.

I doubt it but the dog meat thread was too much. I was surprised by "it's no different than eating pigs" response.

I'd say it's total BS. Some older folks still eat dogs, but only on special days at the height of summer for stamina. Most people in Korea don't or never have eaten dog before.

There is a cookbook by Jean-George's wife called Kimchi Chronicle. It might have some recipes using kimchi. I'd also check out Roy Choi's cookbook. If you're not familiar, he's the chef who started the Kogi food truck selling Korean-SoCal fusion tacos and the inspiration behind the movie Chef.

Here are some kimchi recipes:

Bonchon kimchi to go with beer or sake.
For example, 1 add venegar+sugar, 2 add sliced fish cakes or canned oysters, 3 add shredded cucumbers and jalepenos.

Kimchi pancakes (savory type, not with syrup)

pork chops or clams (with shells on) stewed in Kimchi

steamed rice with butter, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil and kimchi mixed in

ramin noodles topped with chopped kimchi and toasted seaweed
