I am a fairly liberal Catholic. When I lived in DC, I went to Trinity. Now that I live in FCC, I attend St. Ann in Arlington and feel very comfortable.

what did they say about the gays?

A friend and her wife joined because her parents switched to OLQP when she came out to them.
They sought support and a community and became leaders in the church there.

My kids did their religious ed program. Quite a few same-sex parented families.

Is St. Luke's in McLean very conservative? I'm guessing so since no one has suggested it.

Holy crap, YES!

School and parish. No no no. We live across the street from it and drive to Maryland instead.

We're a Catholic-in-name-only family at St Luke and have been very pleased with the school.

Just saying, you can't church shop. In this parish, you must attend your districted church. We wanted to register at another church but were required to attend St. James. It's the reason we left the Catholic Church.

you jest.

"St. Athanasius Church was founded to preserve the traditional Latin Mass and the traditional Catholic faith from the corruption initiated by Vatican II."

I was half kidding -- it's actually really interesting to go to mass there at least once to check it out.

How about a parish that reflects the perspective of the current pope?
