Hopkins brought Sibley so you could look there too. I also recommend Rizzo in Maryland

Yes, Hopkins bought Sibley and also Suburban but it is no way comparable to the main Hopkins Hospital. I have been treated at both the main hospital and have some treatments at Suburban and there is no way these newly purchased Hopkins hospitals have the quality. I do not have cancer but a serious autoimmune disorder. Sibley and Suburban are fine for treatments but there is no way I would go anywhere but the main hospital in Baltimore for such as serious diagnosis.

If she is at one of the major cancer centers now you should speak with her oncologists there and ask for a recommendation. I would also go with Hopkins if you don't have another name. She could receive her transfusions here but be monitored by someone there.

Why do you recommend against Fred Smith? He's the one who suggested my mom get screened for BRCA even though she didn't fit the typical profile. Good thing, because she turned out to be a carrier of the gene. She'd probably be dead of ovarian cancer if he hadn't said anything. He also caught an abnormal reading on a friend's slide that had been overlooked by a previous doctor. Everyone has their own opinions, but the guy definitely proved himself legit to me on two occasions.

I'm PP and he's very smart, no doubt. But he "doesn't do feelings" which is a real problem for an oncologist. When I made the mistake of expressing anxiety he suddenly became much colder and dismissive. My experience is not unusual. I switched oncologists.

I saw him recently. Smith maybe knowledgable but he is not caring. Wilkinson refused to see me and Favret is nice but the office is so disorganized. I guess no one is really perfect. You pick the best one for your mom.
