If you are providing beer, at least get GOOD beer. No major brands. The only major brand I would consider is Sam Adams. But I would go with a variety. Maybe get a variety pack of something localish?

You really can't go wrong with this suggestion. Yeungling is a good, inoffensive beer that people who don't like Miller, Budweiser, etc will drink.

The idea was to add a craft beer to the commercial beers listed, not replace them.

Some of my favorite craft beers: Dogfish Head 60 minute, Flying Dog Raging Bitch, Union Craft Duckpin. They're easy to find at Harris Teeter, Whole Foods, etc.

I don't drink it but many of my guests actually prefer it. So let them drink the cheaper stuff. I don't want to waste the good beer on them!

There are people who love IPAs, and people who hate them. Same for Belgian beer. And there are people who count carbs (or just want something super light).

So, one IPA, one something Belgian, and Michelob Ultra or Bud Light.
If it's summertime or I know women are coming who like it, I'll add a wheat beer.

DC Brau has a ton of different varieties out right now including seasonal specials, so that's nice if you can afford it. (Per 6 it's a little pricey, but nice to support the local guys.)

Get Coronitas (they are 1/2 beers) cute for an party and don't get warm it you are nursing a beet.
