Also, that is very strange. Your house could have burned down. What is wrong with your husband? He left 2 things on that could have burned down the house.

Exactly. It's kind of bizarre that a fire hazard is mentioned with the same intensity as deboning chicken.

Also, you need to put some gates up or something. Having to use a crockpot on a storage rack in the basement just so your toddler can't reach it?? I can't even imagine what your house must look like. Do some child proofing.

Thanks for the laughs! Love them. When he woke up he replied that he forgot to tell me. That's amazing, because he normally wouldn't say that - admit he forgot.

Husband cooks and the wife complains...I see it now.

Well I would talk to him for sure about this. He needs to be aware that he did this.

That said, I would also be worried about him if this sort of thing is atypical for him. If he is usually a little on the careless side - you need to make it a habit to check behind him.

My 30 something (at the time) husband once left a pot of soup simmering on the stove, forgot about it and went out to run some errands. I came home with the kids after being out and about, discovered it and I was shocked and worried - because that is not something that my husband would ever do. Turns out he was in the middle a home project and got distracted when he needed a tool or a part that he didn't have on hand. He ran out the door to get what he needed from the store and while he was out got his hair cut, gas for the car...leaving the pot simmering on the stove.

That was the first and last time he did anything like that. If it could happen to my careful husband, it could happen to anyone. I'm glad that you caught these things before they became a problem, Op.
