I never take out cash unless I know I am going somewhere that will not take credit cards. I use my card for everything and get points where I can.

I also 'think' I should use cash when it's a small amount. But why? Who cares? If it's a small amount at an independent merchant, I see the point in paying cash.

But if it's like Safeway or Starbucks, whatever.

I use my debit or credit card for most things, but take out $100/week and sometimes I use it all, sometimes not. I use cash for some meals, cab fare, cover charges, drinks at bars if i'm just having 1 or 2 and don't want to run a tab, most small purchases under $20.

Use my credit card for most online purchases and anytime my card leaves my possession, like at restaurants. Or any large purchase I might want to spread out paying for, like appliances or plane tickets. Use my debit card for everyday expenses like groceries, gas, incidentals.

I rarely withdraw cash. Only when we hire a babysitter, which happens maybe 3x a year.

$100 cash could last me months. I never use cash. I can't track it and I don't get 1.5% back on purchases if I use cash.

Like other PPs, I hardly use cash for myself. I usually get $100 out of the ATM every month or two, but that's for those rare occasions where I have to pay cash (our local market won't take CC for transactions under $10, and I pay our kids' allowance in cash).
