I'm really curious how many of the answers here are from men vs women.....

Different strokes for different folks. I would not really like to receive them. I would appreciate the effort, but they could not be displayed and i might feel weird about my wife posing for them with a male photographer. sorry, just being honest!

i would however LOVE the occasional picture sent to my phone....

It's corny as all hell. To put it in DCUM terms, it's for the scented candle/Bath and Body Works perfume/"Pink" sweatpants kind of person.

Keep in mind that I own Tommy Boy on DVD, so I'm no great scholar or pillar of class. But come on.

Somehow this seems weird to me -- like it's more about flattering yourself than pleasing your DH, but maybe I just don't get it because I'm a woman? Men, is this a gift you would like to receive?

Exactly how many that you know personally? Articles you read in Cosmo while you're at the dentist don't count.

NP here. I would say about half my married female friends have done them, but most had them done around the time when they got married. I don't get it either and do think it's more of a present for the woman.

Depends how sexy they really are. There's a thin line between sexy and trashy.

My mom's boss displayed his wife's pics in the office. I remember visiting once and thinking it was really creepy.

I helped her pick which ones would be the final touch ups and after that I wasn't quite sure what to do about it. She is mad at me actually for not being more excited about it, but I don't know when I would use it. Where to display, etc.? She looks awesome though.

PP here again, just to finish my thoughts on this as a gift: not a good one for a couple of reasons. 1) the thought behind the gift is amazing, but 2) the execution and aftermath can be dangerous.

In my case, there was a lot of build up and I was aware that it was happening so it is not like there was any element of surprise. We got proofs to review first electronically in order to decide which ones we'd get prints of or final touch ups. Wife and I spent hours looking at the proofs which was really cool because she looked super sexy. However, by the time we got the CD with the final 10 or so photos, I felt like I had already seen them all (in fact there were a few I liked better that didn't make the final cut). But I didn't know what to do at that point. It's not like I was surprised or seeing them for the first time, and it's not like we got prints or framed any them to display...where would we? Anyway, they do serve one purpose as it relates to my marriage...as a constant reminder to my wife that I didn't get excited about the final CD deliverable of the pictures even though we spent hours together looking at the proofs and even spent time together picking out what she'd wear to the shoot.

Good lord you all need a hobby. I don't mind the pics but the time and money spent on them sound absurd.

I'm the end. Not a good gift. But, yes, she did look awesome.

Sorry for the rambling rant DCUM, but this is actually a very sore topic in our marriage. Run like the wind if your DW ever offers this "present."

Ridiculous if you're actually paying someone to do this.

And then, "Boudoir" photos?
In what state of undress, exactly?
It seems like too much effort for what it is...

You are a mean person.

Mean? Maybe, but scoot over because I'd like to sit next to you and join in the fun! It's hilarious when self-involved, narcissistic people make complete fools of themselves.

Remember glamour shots? Photos like this will get laughed at at some point.
