I'm so sorry for your loss, OP. Usually you just need time, but since the grief is still so intense for you, you may want to consult a therapist.
It really does get better. I lost a family member a few years ago. He died suddenly of a horrible death at a very young age. First few months were hard, but usually the only difficult time now is the few weeks leading up to his death anniversary. Most of the time I'm fine now.
You'll get through this.
