OP I would shop around and decide based on who you trust more. Remember that you will be dealing mostly with the front desk and nurses and if you don't like them now you will like them even less when you are going through your treatments. I am with SG now and although as other posters have noted they are much busier, they seem to be much more organized and on top of things. Oh and also beware of CFA's billing department, they are disorganized to the max and not helpful at all.

Two babies after two rounds of IVF with Dr. Sacks! I'm advanced maternal age as well but was able to use my own eggs each time. I never went anywhere but CFA, so I can't compare them to other places. But I was very happy with my treatment by Dr. Sacks and the nurses. It's a frustrating, emotional journey, but it proved successful for me, so I will be forever grateful to CFA.

I am with CFA too - one child as a result of IUi with Dr. Abbasi. Trying for a second - and likely contributing to the low success rates BC if immunity issues. The population that seeks out Dr. Abbasi is inherently challenging due to her dual RI/RE background.
The lab has been fine for me- multiple blasts grown each cycle.

Well count me as one. I saw Sacks through 2 IUIs, 2 fresh IVFs, and 2 FETs. I had 1 BFP to mmc and 1 chemical through all of that. And he missed a diagnosis that ultimately was key to getting me pregnant. (Dx from GW, along with treatment followed by the successful fresh IVF that resulted in DD). That said, a nice thing about CFA is your own RE does all of your procedures. Dr. F was the only doctor at the time I went to GW, but that's no longer the case so you get what you get. Also, at CFA your RE does the monitoring U/S as opposed to a tech.
Ultimately adopted the best baby ever BUT...+1 for the reasons I prefer CFA over GW.

Dr Sacks. 2008. Twins from a FET after initial failed ICSI attempt. Nurses and admin were so-so but I really liked Dr Sacks.

I work with Catherine and have to tell you I could not have gotten through this without her. She guided me through a very difficult time, so much travel and I have twins that are 13 weeks because of her and Dr Sacks. Wonderful people and just human beings. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

I'm just getting started on #2 with Dr. Abbasi, and while I'll be going to the DC office for all the labs/procedures, I'll be calling & working with the folks in Bethesda as much as possible. I've had really terrible experiences with the DC front office & billing, including more than one lost credit card payment. (They asked me to pay cash for a co-pay once and I refused since then there wouldn't be a paper trail). From what I can tell, the Besthesda office has it's act together. Their billing person was able to clear up the final billing mishap I had before my first pregnancy after the DC office failed to do so.
So--I'm a fan of Dr. Abbasi, but you may experience less frustration if the Bethesda office is your point of contact. Good luck!

Abbasi is fantastic and she's the reason I have kids. The admin staff were the reason for several incredibly frustrating conversations and days. The nurses varied - I had some I really loved and some less so but found them all to be caring.
None of the administrative hassles will matter if you end up w/ a healthy baby, and I think the doctors at CFA are among the best in the area.

WE consulted with CFA, SGF, and DF, and definitely liked DF the best, but they don't participate with UHC. We went with SGF for testing and just completed 2nd IUI and looking to do IVF which isn't covered anywhere. Taking the insurance issue off the table makes me want to consider IVF with DF, but I don't want to have to start over.

We're seeing Dr. Abbasi and love her. Also love our nurse Tavia (in Arlington). Actually, we've had a fantastic experience with all of the Arlington staff, front desk and financial. Now, DC....especially the billing person, not a positive experience. But as long as we're at the Arlington office, we are happy. We're haven't finished a cycle yet so we can't speak to getting pregnant but we feel like we're in competent hands so far.
