Not Memoir 44! The instruction booklet is at least 30 pages and it takes half an hour to set up the game. Maybe for older kids, but my nine year old hates it. (I do too.)

in our house Stratego and Risk are favorites, we own a lot of these and they rarely get pulled out. maybe for perspective, my kids also love chess, checkers, scrabble, apples to apples, monopoly.

Barnes and nobles has a really good game section--actually more than one for different age groups.
