My turkey alone was $85 (from a local farm). At least $250 total. 7 people.

Me again. Grand total was $600 for 4 adults and a toddler. Wine not included. I don't even know how this is possible.

11 people including kids and I'm around $200 right now. Not including alcohol. Everything is made from scratch and most things are organic.

My own cooking is turning out pretty BAD. NOT good. So I;m hoping that folks will forgive, forget and order without complaint.

You buy flowers, silver polish, and candles JUST for Thanksgiving??

Not OP, but is this odd? In my house we only use the silver for thanksgiving and Christmas so in order to polish it I usually have to buy new polish just before thanksgiving. The stuff dries out by next year.

14 lb non organic turkey from WF will be about $45. I spent $40 at the farmers market. Will probably spend another $75 at the store today. Plus $50 for wine. But we will be eating it all weekend. I don't think it's actually much more than our regular food budget. It's mostly stuff we would normally eat (except pies).

Lol thanks everyone! I'm the OP and thought I was crazy overspending! I see I'm right at the normal level though from your responses. It must be canned goods and boxed items, you all are right. I wish everyone perfectly cooked turkeys and abundance of delicious wine with family for the holiday! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We did our Thanksgiving meal shopping at Aldi's and that came to $87. We still need to get dates and ricotta cheese for one of the appetizers, so will come out to more than $100 total for 4 adults & 3 kids.

We have a well stocked pantry for baking, so I didn't need to buy new sets of brown sugar, baking soda, etc.

I combined our weekly shopping trip with our Thanksgiving shopping and the total was a little over $200. There are 4 of us and I anticipate some leftovers...

I'm guessing $300 for 12 people, plus whatever we spend on alcohol and not incuding the costs incurred by the guests, who are all bringing side dishes.

16 people.
