33 and 34. Ton of ikea, many pieces 5+ years or more (and one 10). One awesome hand me down couch and chair, and rejected ikea beds. Outside of the bed frame, though, the whole bedroom will soon be matching malm.

Will buy a new kids dresser from ikea.

I'm 53 and DH is 65. Like many others we have a mix of furniture in our home, including IKEA. Several years ago we moved and downsized to a smaller, more contemporary home. A lot of our heavier, more formal furniture just didn't work anymore, so we replaced some stuff with Ikea, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel. DH's desk and bookcases are IKEA, and our teenage daughter's bedroom set is also from IKEA. We couldn't see spending a lot on her furniture since she'll be off to college in just a few years.

Wait! I'm the PP and looking around we still have more than I thought! Lol That black striped rug is awesome for a huge rug and has held up well, picture frames, planters, glasses... So I guess it's not all bad

27, and no Ikea! Our last house was full of it- multiple versions of that square shelving unit, got so sick of it. Was the most affordable way to furnish a big house with a modern decor sense but I found our style changed and I felt like it was just cheap. :/

I think our final holdout is my husband's desk- they make great simple affordable desks! Really didn't like their upholstery or beds- poor quality.

Ikea has some great stuff! I think their Stockholm line is especially nice. If their modern aesthetic works for you, it's a great deal.

My parents are in their 70s. My father is an architect. They live in Europe in a house that has been featured in magazines. They have some very expensive furniture -- both antique and modern. They also have several pieces from Ikea. Their closets are Ikea hacks, for example. They also have glass Ikea cabinetry.

Ikea has some great designs and is great quality for that price point.

IKEA is magic. Just don't buy pieces that scream my first apartment, like Poang. Poang is to today as a Pier One Papasan chair was to the 80's.

39. Have it and buy it. Family room, offices, and kids rooms and basement. Places that get some abuse. So far, it has held up pretty well considering the abuse it takes. Ektorp sofa with slipcover has been a Godsend with kids! I have antiques and more "delicate" furnishings in other rooms that are used less often by the kids. For us, it is about cost to buy and replace. At this stage, with little kids, we won't squander resources to buy expensive furniture if we believe it won't last more than 5 years. That said, my butt is on an ikea chair from 10 years ago. Totally holding up! Win WIN!

42& 50 years old -- we're 2/3 antiques and 1/3 Ikea! We like mixing antiques with modern, and the modern is just about all Ikea. (ex: we have Tobias chairs around a giant antique table).

38 and still buy the occasion bit of ikea - wooden step stools for small kids, expedits for storage etc. Our kitchen in the UK was ikea and I miss it so much. Much nicer than the kitchen we have here which seems so dated.

44 and 35, three youngish boys at home and I am not buying prestige-level furniture anytime soon. Especially for kids' bedrooms-- it's a waste.
