When you buy and wear clothes that don't fit, you don't look or feel comfortable. Most men don't know what proper fit is. They wear suits that fit like when they were 16 and were wearing their father's suit, two sizes too big. If they bought the right size and had minor alterations, they'd be a lot more comfortable.

11 spread collar dress shirts for wearing with suits/jackets and tie
4 button down collar dress shirts for wearing with odd* jackets but no tie
1 pique fabric shirt with french cuffs for tuxedo

(this is enough to have one week's shirts at the cleaners and the others available to wear at any time)

2 four season suits.
3 three season Spring/Summer/Fall suits
1 Fall/Winter suit
1 summer suit
2 spring/summer odd jackets
3 fall/winter odd jackets
1 tuxedo

1 four season odd pants

shoes in order of formality:
1 plain toe patent leather oxfords for tuxedo
1 black oxfords
1 dark brown oxfords

1 balmoral reddish/brown dress boots
1 dark brown suede bluchers
1 light brown loafers

* odd meaning not part of a matching suit; generally made from non-worsted wool material or patterned so as not to look like a suit jacket

that said, in his industry it is ok - i posted that my bro works out west in zuck's industry and pretty much does the same thing - free company t-shirts, under armour pants, and nike free sneakers.

PP here - i don't have many suits though - 4 (maybe 5). I have a lot of button downs because i wear them often even outside of work - just pair with jeans.

I don't have many polos - just 3 or 4.

And oddly enough, i find wool trousers more comfortable than denim. Unfortunately people find it weird if you wear trousers outside of work. I guess i should've been born in the 20's.

around 30 shirts (mostly brooks brothers, thomas pink, Lewin, CT, or BR) and 20 pants of different wool weights depending on the season.

I'm 29.

My brother is 22, but works in the valley so he has 2 dress shirts and 1 dress pant (that came with a suit which he never wears).
