Not all schools do them, maybe because they don't have enough kids or just don't have the resources or don't believe in pullouts philosophically at this age.
At our school there are about 4 kids that apparently scored this high so enough for a small group.

To PP: Yes, they are state-wide assessments.

I only heard about the KRA, as in it was administered and took up a lot of time. Heard nothing at all about the MAP-P, or anything about scores. Just saw a "data notebook" that looked a lot like our preschool journal of progress. And didn't even know enough to ask about other tests. Is this administered MCPS-wide?

Our kid's K teacher told us before the tests were given that she thought the test was inappropriate for kindergarteners. She didn't give the score and I didn't ask. I think at that age it isn't useful. First or second, maybe.

I wonder why MCPS doesn't list norms/averages for their students since based on Google many other school districts send home entire packets worth of information on the MAP-P. My school made it seem like they were doing me a favor by giving out my child's raw score ranges. Just having the score without context or information about how it will be used to affect my child's instructional level is not very helpful.

national norms are in here. this is the latest as far as i can tell. look for fall math for your grade level.

i have never seen mcps release countywide means but i'm sure they have them.

this is not uncommon. a lot of schools don't send the test scores home and don't notify parents.

This is a problem with your school, not MCPS.

You can google it. My school too only gives the number and not what it means.
